About
The term “Fried Dough Ho” goes back several years to genesis of eGullet as a dot-com and thriving community of food enthusiasts. I would get excited at the descriptions of various fried dough offerings and, yes, would even considering whoring myself out for the perfect example of such. With the rise of the blogosphere, I could think of no better expression of my love for various forms of fried dough than taking on the mantle of Fried Dough Ho.
Unlike other mere doughnut blogs, the Fried Dough Ho investigates all forms of fried dough (be it beignets, churros, funnel cakes, or takoyaki) including their historical, literary, or cultural basis. Provided here are the Ho’s own recipes, reviews of famous and local doughnut shops, and tidbits from the arts, classic movies and television that all glorify the various joys of fried dough.
